The all in one box security system gives you all your control and alarm equipment in one box. It is your keypad to turn it on and off, it is your master control panel communicating to all of your devises and the monitoring station, it is also your siren and it plugs right into the wall phone jack for your phone dialer. So what's wrong with that? Everything! It has your siren built in so it leads them right to your master control panel. If they break in the main door (the door you have set for entry delay) the system will start beeping (asking for the code to turn if off), they can just unplug the phone line. When the siren does go off they can just smash it, or stuff it under a couch cushion to quieten it. So just smash it, stuff it under something or unplug it and it won't work! Most thiefs can figure this out!
Do it yourself installation
The state of Oklahoma requires that a licensed professional be used to install security systems. There are reasons for this, first, a security system is a life saving device, second, it is a highly complex system that must meet certain standards in quality of equipment and installation. You can get around this because it is your home and you can do whatever you want in your own home, but do you really want to? The do it yourself systems are mostly one box systems (see the article to the left). These are shipped to you from out of state, so you are the service department. They have no one here to service your system. Got a problem, you go online and see if a guy that just works the phone can help you fix it. Did you break something when you installed it? No worries, they will sell you another one. This is a life saving devise it must be done right!
_Professionally installed complete alarm systems
When you have a U.S. Security professional install a complete security
system in your home you are protected from all of the above.
We install your master control panel in an out of site location, your
siren is in a separate location (not drawing the thief to the master
control panel) with us your keypad is mounted on a wall
at a convenient location for you to enter and exit, again not drawing
the thief to your master control panel. We also install a phone tamper
on your phone line in case someone cuts your phone line, this sets off
the alarm and siren letting you know someone just cut your phone lines.
At U.S. Security we aren't going to try and save time and money by just
throwing a all in one box system in your home and calling it a security
system. We install a complete system that is proven to last, proven to
work when you need it and that will add value to your home.
Who does their service?
Watch out for out of state companies. A lot of companies will swing though an area and do a big sales promotion, then just hire installers on a job by job basis. Once all the new installs are done so are the installers. If you need service "Good Luck". We know, because every year these same out of state companies call us asking us to run their service calls. Please check with your local Better Business Bureau before doing business with these companies. In most cases you will find a verysub par rating. These people don't care about your long term satisfaction, because they have a five year contract that says you have to pay! If you put in a do it yourself system your in even deeper trouble. Your service support is someone on the phone or on line, that's just going to sell you replacement equipment. Most licensed alarm technicians won't or can't work on your system for you because in most cases it is not up the the States alarm code guidelines, so they can't legally touch it!
